It hurts me to say tell this tragedy

My dear LV's, with tears in my eyes I ask you all for your prayers. A dear friend of mine, almost had her husband taken away from her. I have known her family for over a year, and I can't began to tell you how sad it is to face reality right now. Jesus Trujillo (34 years of age) was shot in the neck. He is the father of a San Miguel Graduate Victor (currently in 10th grade) and Diana (a 6th graders at San Miguel) and also a 7 year boy as well. Jesus and his wife, Alicia are very active community members who strive to improve the commmunity and do good for others. One unfortunate moment has changed this family's life. I'm still having a real hard time accepting that Jesus, passionate and fanatic soccer player is fighting now just to move his finger.

Here is heartbreaking news that happened:

Mr. Trujillo was shot in the neck this morning around 5 a.m. outside his home while he was getting ready to head to work. While he was warming up his car, a men approached him and pulled a gun. The men ask for his wallet and cell phone. Mr. Trujillo gave them to him right away. The men walked away but seconds later he returned and told Mr. Trujillo to open his house. He refused to open his house because he fear for the safety of his family. At this point Mr. Trujillo gets shot in the neck because he refused open up his house. The criminal took roughly $80 and Mr. Trujillo's cell phone. And left the wallet behind with money still in it. Moments later, Alicia Trujillo (his wife), heard something outside. Like someone who was trying to screamed, at this moment someone has already called 911 and she could already hear the sirens. Alicia walked by her husbands car, and saw him on the ground.

He was rushed to Cook County Hospital, the shot hit his spinal cord. The bullet did not penetrate the spinal bone, but it was severely damaged. Thus, the doctors can't determined if he will be able to walk. Right now he is paralyzed from the neck down, but there is a small possibility that he started losing his body feeling after the heavy medication to stabilized him. They are hoping that he regains his movement after he gets better. Right now the doctors have predicted 20% chance that he may walk again. He will be put to sleep for three days so his body recovers enough to take the bullet out, there is major swelling in the spinal area where the bullet hit. Thus, they are unable to do any more surgery. He is also using a tube to breath, because he is unable to breath on his own. The tube may come off in a few days depending on his recovery.

Please keep Jesus and His family in your prayers. It broke my heart seeing Alicia, and she needs as many prayers as possible at this moment. At this point all we can do is pray and only hope for the best. I wish there was more that i can do, for his family, for Victor, Diana, but especially for Alicia who has taking this blow the hardest, she's one of my mujeres, and I feel like I useless. She was done so much for me, ever since I arrived. She has been nothing but welcoming and has maded me feel like I truly belong. She is one of my favorite Women, and all I can do is ask you all for your prayers so God can them.

I sincerely thank you for your prayers.

Jorge

Jorge, words aren't enough to tell you how sorry I am. We will be praying for this family and also for you. You may feel useless, but just as your LV family is here to support you, you being there to support this family is right where God wants you to be.
